If you make a mistake on a tag, PLEASE make a new tag. It is very important that tags are uniform and that there are no cross-outs. At the register we have no way to determine if you made the change or if someone else did, therefore we accept only original prices. Paper: Use plain, white (unlined, or use the back of a lined index card), 3x5 index cards only, vertical, not horizontal. If you print you tags on the internet, please be sure it is on white card stock and 3" x 5". If it is too small, it can get lost.
Seller Number: Write Seller number about 1 inch down from the top, on the left of every tag, leaving room for the pin or tape (see diagram below). All tags without a Seller number will be considered a donation to MOPS…or you can put the MOPS seller number and MOPS will get all money for that sale. (MOPS number is #200)
Half Price Sale: The half-price sale runs from 12:30-2:00pm on Saturday. Mark an “X” in the top right corner and highlight with a yellow marker if you do not want to reduce your price for the half-price sale. An “X” in the top right hand corner indicates that the item will be sold at full-price all day long. No “X” in the top right hand corner indicates that the item will be sold at half-price from 12:30 to 2:00pm. If your item has not sold at full price by the time of the half-price sale, it may be an indication that the price is too high and the selling at half-price would be a great second chance at actually making a sale and not taking the item home again.
Boy/Girl/Maternity: To help us in sorting properly for you item to sell, please indicate if it is a boy, girl, neutral (write- boy/girl), or maternity item. This is only necessary for clothing items and shoes, not on toys or equipment.
Description: In the middle of the tag, please write a description of the item. Include the brand, color and type of item (pants, shirt, 3 pc outfit). If the tag falls off of the item, the better the description, the easier it is to match it up with the item. For larger sets, such as a kid comforter set with multiple items that are not attached or furniture, each item should have a tag. Fill out the first tag as normal but beneath the description include “1 of X”, where X is the number of pieces. On all the other tags, write your seller number, the description, and “2 of X”, “3 of X”, etc… DO NOT write the price on any tag except the first. Only use multiple tags for separate pieces, do not use multiple tags for items that are attached together.
Size: Write the size of the item. Do not use S, M, L for anything other than maternity clothing. (0-3mnth, 3-6mnth, 6-9mnth, 9-12mnth, 12-18mnth, 18-24mnth, 2T, 3T, 4T, 5T, 6, 7, 8…20)
Pricing: Items must be priced at $1 or above, in whole or half dollar amounts. Items of lesser value may be combined. Price your items so that they will sell quickly. A good rule of thumb is 1/3 of the new price if it is in good condition and 1/4 if it is in fair condition. Equipment (strollers, cribs…) in good shape can be priced as high as 50% of retail. Evaluate your prices… would you pay that price for the item…used? See the Pricing guidelines for help with pricing your items. Completing the Tags- Pin tags with (small or medium) SAFETY PINS ONLY (do not use large pins they can leave holes) to the right shoulder of the garment (when looking at it) as shown. Please do not use straight pins or staples, as these do not hold tags on securely. Any item without a tag will not be sold, so be sure the tag is secure.
- All clothes must be hung on hangers as shown. Make sure the hook is pointing to the left (make a question mark with the hanger). Also, place items such as comforters and bumper pads on a hanger.
- Pin sets together with safety pins. Use only one tag for clothing sets that are pinned together, such as a shirt and short set. For larger sets, such as a comforter set with multiple items that are not attached or furniture, each item should have a tag. Fill out the first tag as normal but beneath the price include “1 of X”, where X is the number of pieces. On all the other tags, write your seller number, the description, and “2 of X”, “3 of X”, etc. DO NOT write the price on any tag except the first. - For small or grouped items packaged in zipper lock bags, tape tags to the outside of the zipper lock bags and seal the bag with tape. Tape the tag to the item along the top of the tag. Although the tag should be taped secure, please be aware that the cashiers need to remove the tag at checkout – without damaging the item. Do not tape over any writing on the tag!
 Tools You Will Need:- Hangers – kid-size hangers, both shirt and pants type. NOTE: Extra hangers were handed out at the last sale so supplies are almost non-existent.
- Use white, unlined 3x5 index cards, vertical, not horizontal.
- Safety pins (small or medium only) No large…could leave holes!
- Zip-Lock bags – the bags come in several sizes, ranging from snack size to 2 gallons.
- Tape, to tape on index cards to zip-lock bags (please don’t overtape…we will need to remove the index card at checkout)
- Yellow Highlighter to highlight the ‘X’ if not half price
